APPLICATION OPEN FOR CANDIDATES OF
「2024 GLOBAL WEBTOON AWARDS (working title)」

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will hold the 「2024 Global Webtoon Awards (working title)」 to select and award domestic and international outstanding webtoons and to support webtoon creators.
We welcome all artists and industry professionals to apply and participate in the event.

1. Overview of the Event

• ㅇ Even Title: 2024 Global Webtoon Awards(working title) * The very first (2024)
• ㅇ Hosting / Supervising Institution: Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism / Korea Creative Content Agency

2. Awards Description

• ㅇ Recipients: Webtoons(regardless of the creator’s nationality).
  • - Only the webtoons that have been published for at least 3 months on domestic or international platforms between January 1 2022 ~ May 31 2024 are eligible for the award.
    * Webtoons that were completed before and republished during the mentioned period are not eligible to apply.
• ㅇ Total number of winners: Approximately 10 winners

3. Application Period / Eligibility

• ㅇ Application Period: Until July 26 (Fri) 2024 (KST)
• ㅇ Eligibility: Anyone (Individuals, production companies, platforms, agencies, associations, etc.)
  * When applying on behalf of the original creator, the applicant must obtain prior consent from the original creator.
  (It will be assumed that consent from the original creator has been obtained upon submitting the application, therefore no additional documents are needed.)

4. How to Apply

• ㅇ Required document: 1 application(Refer to attached file)
  • - In the case of paid webtoons, please fill in at least 2 IDs/PWs for evaluation(in the application form)
• ㅇ How to apply: submit the documents via e-mail to webtoon@kocca.kr

6. Winner Announcement

• ㅇ Results will be released through the press and notified individually
  (A month before the ceremony)
  * The Grand Award and the Jury Chairman’s Award winners will be announced at the ceremony.

7. Awarding Ceremony Overview

• ㅇ Ceremony Title: 2024 Global Webtoon Awards(working title) Awarding Ceremony
  * Will be held in conjunction with the 2024 Global Webtoon Festival
  (scheduled for the end of september 2024)

8. Other Details

• ㅇ The submitted documents will not be returned to the submitter, and the jury may request additional information during the judging process if needed.
• ㅇ Submission of false information or failure to meet the eligibility criteria may lead to disqualification and, if already awarded, the recipient will be obliged to return their award.
